My thoughts on Stupak

I used to be pro-life until I watched a special on tv about "feral children"....Because you have a uterus does not mean you can be a parent. We have an enormous population already of unwanted children. Some mothers that don't want to be parents make bad choices during pregnancy leading to conditions and disabilities, some not recognizable for years. These children pay the price for not being "wanted" as do the tax payers that ultimately end up taking care of them medically and financially.I realize now that I can not be pro-life as I cannot force another woman to make a choice about her uterus, period. But on that note, I also cannot force parents to love a child that they don't want. These children have been denied human touch, love, eye contact, an education. They have been chained to toilets during the day and chained to their bed at night wearing diapers for their "caregivers" convenience. Some end up unable to walk nor speak due to their formative years being in a vacuum of neglect and abuse. Yes for birth control, abstinence and adoption. Reality is that for whatever reason some women, men and their family units will not make these choices. An unwanted child living in deplorable conditions is not a life. Even after they are rescued, if they ever are, they don't heal. The point is, when speaking about being anti-abortion "back-alley abortions" are usually brought up, but who is bringing up the fact that unwanted fetuses often grow up to be unwanted children. This is in addition to the daily stories of unwanted children being murdered by their parents...I'd find the links, but they would fill pages....
